How to trigger the algorithm
Whether it be Youtube, Spotify, or any social media app, the algorithm is a user feature to deliver them more content they like, with the goal of keeping them on the platform. That’s the gist of it.
Algorithms are based on user behaviour.
It doesn’t decide anything by itself, its input is data from its users.
No data, no algorithm.
No input, no output.
So how does one trigger the algorithm?
By triggering an audience.
This is the most important piece.
Algorithms simply follow audience.
So if you want it on your side, you have to get the audience on your side first.
Which comes back down to good old fashioned audience building.
Which means actually connecting with your audience first, and not waiting for THE ALGORITHM to do it for you, as that would be backwards.
But we need to be connected to our audience for that to happen, right?
Right.
Which is why direct audience building is everything.
